A day of high emotion and praise for House for Life and Sam Squiers

With adorable 21-month old daughter Imogen in tow, House for Life Ambassador, Sam Squiers, paid a special visit to the 2019 House for Life, which is well under construction and on target for its 8th September auction.

The spectacular four-bedroom home will go under the hammer to support sick and premature babies being cared for at Mater Mothers’ Hospital’s Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU).

Sam Squiers, a leading sports journalist for the Nine Network and proud mum of “Immi”, also had the opportunity to catch up with some of the trades and suppliers who are part of the build.  The trades and suppliers were treated to a BBQ thank you feast supplier by the Mater Foundation as a thank you for their tremendous efforts.

Sam’s personal connection to Mater

Immi was born at 32 weeks at Mater weighing only 1.3kgs. She was confronted with a number of health issues and spent seven weeks at Mater’s NCCU. Immi continued with monthly hospital stays for the first five months of her life.

Imogen received exceptional care at Mater Mother’s Hospital which is why Sam decided to be involved in the House for Life Project.

“I have experienced first-hand the incredible work and commitment of Mater’s NCCU for all sick and premature babies and the level of care Imogen has had so far on her road to recovery.  We had a challenging journey ahead of us as a family, but we knew that Mater was with us all the way.”

Under the hammer

This House for Life marks the 8th home that Plantation Homes has built and auctioned a home with 100% of the proceeds going to Mater Little Miracles, and the inaugural year partnering with Villawood Properties, who donated the land.

The home, situated in the picturesque Villawood community of The Surrounds at Helensvale, in the Gold Coast, boasts an extravagant master bedroom with ensuite and two dressing rooms.  The spacious and well-appointed designer kitchen features a walk-in Butler’s Pantry, SMEG™ appliances and Caesarstone™ grand island bench.

Five designated living spaces for entertaining family and friends is the definition of the ultimate family home. The House for Life also boasts a stunning pool, which suits the beautiful Hamptons-inspired architecture and interiors.
