Philanthropy

Part of what makes our team tick, is our commitment to giving back to the communities we help create - here and abroad.

Philanthropic Program
Our philanthropic programs are all about community and opportunity - to give people a chance in life and a helping hand where one is needed, and to give our team the opportunity to get involved.

Our philanthropic work proves just how much can be achieved when individuals band together towards a vision of change, and we are proud to see a new generation of philanthropic-minded team members emerge from our efforts.

House for Life
Plantation Homes are particularly proud of our relationship and support of the Mater Hospital in Brisbane as part of the House for Life Program. The millions of dollars raised have helped with the re-development of Mater’s Neonatal Critical Care Unit and assisted in funding numerous medical research programs.

In building new communities, we’re also building memories, and a legacy - proudly raising and donating over $6.5 million for the Mater Hospital, and over $6 million to local hospitals, including the contribution of nine homes to the Mater Foundation and three homes to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Our 9th House for Life went under the hammer in 2022 for a project record of $1,489,000, with 100% of the proceeds going to Mater Little Miracles. Construction has begun on the 2025 House for Life in Tarragindi, which will see Plantation Homes’ 7-star energy efficient Mirage 299-D43 go under the hammer in 2025.

We’d love to break another fundraising record when the home is auctioned in 2025, with 100% of the proceeds going straight to Mater Little Miracles.

Over 32 years nationally, we have raised over $34 million, built and donated 78 homes to charity and changed countless lives and communities for the better.

A National Helping Hand

The national business group has donated in excess of $34 million for various charities since our inception and we continue to build and donate homes for charitable causes and hospital fundraising across Australia and the US.

Working with charity and not-for-profit groups locally, nationally and globally is an important part of our team’s mentality, and our business model - ensuring we give back to those who need it most.

Philanthropic Programs

Our philanthropic program is all about opportunity - to give people a chance in life and a helping hand where one is needed. Our philanthropic work proves just how much can be achieved when individuals band together towards a vision of change.

House for Life

Plantation Homes are particularly proud of our relationship and support of the Mater Hospital in Brisbane as part of the House for Life Program. Since 2007, we have built and auctioned nine luxury home and land packages.  These projects have seen us raise and donate more than $6.5 million to Mater Little Miracles, which has contributed to the re-development of Mater’s Neonatal Critical Care Unit and has helped fund numerous medical research programs and Mater.

Our 9th House for Life, went under the hammer in 2022 for a project record of $1,489,000. This contribution continues to grow and assist in helping support Queensland’s tiniest patients.

VOICE

VOICE charity is a not-for-profit organisation committed to giving a ‘voice’ to marginalised and dis-empowered people. Each year, Plantation Homes contributes to their cause to help these children across the world.

As part of their recent ‘Back 2 School’ campaign, Voice needed to raise $9,000 to be able to assist 83 children to attend primary school, seven children to attend high school, 20 students to receive special tutoring, three children to university and one student to attend vocational education. Plantation Homes came together to raise much needed funds to assist this cause, which has gone an incredible distance in reaching their goal.

RSPCA

Our employees are generous with their time and money as they continue to dig deep in supporting our charities of choice but also drive their own fundraising initiatives. We continue to support numerous causes throughout the calendar year to raise money for the RSPCA.

Each year, our employees participate in the RSPCA cupcake, raising funds to take a stand for animal welfare. With more than $1,500 raised so far, we continue to assist with the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of the 135,000 animals that come through RSPCA shelters every year.

In 2017, our staff and their four legged friends proudly participated in our very first Million Paws Walk to raise over $500 to go towards fighting animal cruelty. We look forward to continuing with this initiative in years to come.

Employee-driven charity contributions

Our employees are generous with their time and money as they continue to dig deep in supporting our charities of choice but also drive their own fundraising initiatives. We continue to support numerous causes throughout the calendar year including but not limited to: RSPCA Cupcake Day, Daffodil Day, Pink Ribbon, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, Movember and much more.

Employees are always encouraged to participate in these events and where possible the business matches or contributes to donations. We also hold regular raffles, BBQ's and competitions with all donations going to our charitable causes.

Overseas endeavours

Plantation Homes as part of the Henley Properties Group has proudly funded orphanages and surgery for children in developing nations including Kenya and Cambodia, as well as provided living and educational support, health programs, skills training and microfinance leadership.

Operation Christmas Child

In 2016, in the spirit of giving back, over 12 employees from Plantation Homes participated in our very first Operation Christmas Child, an initiative dedicated to helping children in need by providing shoe boxes filled with a variety of essentials that many disadvantaged children go without.
