HIA Building Women Awards | Jamie Cappellano

Thanks to the Housing Industry Association (HIA) a spotlight is being shone on women who are making a difference in our industry, and now it's Jamie Cappellano's turn!

Leading our business drafting team in Queensland, Jamie she has been nominated for the HIA Women in Construction awards.

The HIA Women in Construction Awards recognise the unique contribution women are making in the building and construction industry, as well as acknowledges their outstanding achievements which excel and inspire others to succeed beyond expectation.

Jamie says the award nomination is a "... humbling surprise!"

Having worked in the industry for more than 20 years, with eight of those at Plantation Homes, Jamie’s roles have been diverse, and all have made a real difference within the drafting team, and for our customers.

Jamie was instrumental with the implementation of our drafting tool, that allows the team to accurately design and help customers visualise their homes through 3D modelling.

Jamie’s advice for others wanting to achieve their goals:
• Don’t be afraid to ask questions
• Don’t be afraid to speak up
• Seek understanding and back yourself

According to Mark Hampshire, National Drafting Manager, Jamie has been a constant in the Queensland drafting department and 100% dedicated to Plantation.

“She has been on board with changes implemented and a driving force to helping ensure all changes have been managed through the department in a way in which all others could get on board.

We have no doubt that without Jamie, the changes we needed to implement would
not have been achieved as smoothly.

“She truly is a leader, and we would like to recognise Jamie for her contributions”.
