Taking the plunge in building a new home is a significant life milestone but to do it as part of a northern seachange, is a whole new adventure. Jen and Tony Vassallo, originally from Melbourne, have recently moved to Kingscliff.  To take advantage of the stunning beach views and lifestyle, the Vassallo's built the spanning Mirage with Resort façade, and sprawling balcony.

Do your homework

There is no better way to check out which house is perfect for you and your family, than in the flesh.  Jen and Tony hit the pavement and spent a lot of time walking through displays to find the best-suited builder and house design.  For the Vassallo’s it was also important to clearly understand what features and fixtures were standard inclusions.  “This was a big selling point for us, and we attribute the great value for money in making Plantation Homes a superior builder over competitors. Back in Melbourne, we had built two beautiful homes with parent-company Henley, so we knew that Plantation Homes would be the perfect fit for us.”

Embrace the foodie lifestyle

Both self-professed foodies, Jen is an avid cook who loves her luxurious kitchen, boasting ample storage and style. “We especially love the Caesarstone benchtop – it gives the kitchen that opulence and polished look.  Quality was high on our list of priorities and we are simply thrilled by Mirage’s premium finishes and fixtures including upgrading to SMEG appliances.  And because we love to cook, the Butler’s Pantry, which stocks our 100+ spices, makes entertaining a dream.”  Jen adds.
