Easter Home Styling Inspiration
Celebrating Easter with family and loved ones is synonymous with delicious food, loads of laughter and a bounty of Easter eggs.
To set the scene to a mouth-watering feast on Easter Sunday, your breakfast, lunch or dinner setting should have pops of colour, creativity and charisma!
So we have delved deep into our styling bag of tricks to come up with a suite of inspiration for you. Rachel Zetterlund, one of our Interior Design Stylists at Plantation Studio, has created a kaleidoscope of colour palettes and brilliant ideas that is sure to impress.
Inspiration and Colour Motif
Natural/organic textures combined with soft and subtle colours with some earthy undertones is such sophisticated way to style a table setting.
“Easter is traditionally the celebration of Spring, but as we move into Autumn here in the Southern Hemisphere, we drew inspiration from a more muted earthy colour palette. Using our beautiful Hamptons Kitchen in the Plantation Design Studio, we have created a casual Easter breakfast setting, paring the rustic textures of nature with the sophistication of classic Hamptons styling. Pastels are traditionally used in Easter theming, so we have stuck to the classic Hamptons colours of black, white, and light grey, and added soft dusty blue as an accent colour.”
Let’s theme it up!
We combined existing household items, like chunky serving boards, organic shaped vases, and table décor made from natural materials, with a few classic Easter decorator pieces to create this relaxed effortless table setting. Textural layering is important when it comes to organic styling. Adding loosely placed fresh foliage elevates the display and adds some natural aroma to the entire room, while table linens in patterns of spots, stripes or even checks, supports that classic Easter look.
Sourcing the materials
Eucalyptus sprays, Gum Nuts and fresh Jasmine sprigs are easily found in the Australian bushland along with some creeping vines which we twisted into a little birds nest.
“Easter styling pieces were purchased from retailers such as Bed Bath and Table, TK Max and Kmart. Using existing tableware and decorator pieces, we have combined the additional items to elevate and bring to life a simple table setting on a very low budget.”
Interior Styling Tips
Creativity is important when it comes to any themed styling. Most households would have a few decorator items that can be grouped together in a vignette on the end of a table, or sideboard.
“Using items of similar colours in varying heights and textures, and combining these with a few themed pieces from a department store, can be simple and inexpensive way to decorate your home for any theme or celebration. Thinking outside of the typical decorations and utilising natural foliage is always a winner!”
From all of us at Plantation, we wish you a great Easter.
