Mixing materials
Whether you are after a light and bright kitchen or one that is more moody and opulent, handpicking a mix of materials which is skews away from the mundane, is becoming the surefire way to achieve a drool-worthy space.
Having a statement long island bench, with a stone and a wood-like finish makes the kitche an entertainer’s paradise.
One Plantation home design, the Valletta features a show stopping kitchen that is like no other. It boasts a luxurious second-tier breakfast bar as an option, celebrating the oversized kitchen with its mix of light and dark hues. Sturdy and stunning, the laminate doors are as functional as they are beautiful.
Plantation Homes knows what makes a great kitchen – with function and form well combined. Shaker style cabinetry is proving increasingly popular, as it' suited to both modern and traditional styles.

All-white kitchens
Nothing says luxury than an all-white kitchen with a peppering of gold, copper or black tapware. White is timeless, classic and elegant and is back on trend. Was it ever not?
With a white kitchen, you can offset it with glass, funky coloured splashbacks and stone benchtops. It is the ideal foundation that stands the test of time.
The Colorado is a perfect example where white is the glamourous foundation to allow the eye-catching tapware, black cupboard and drawer handles and mosaic splash back to be celebrated.

Coloured matte finishes on cabinetry is also making a real comeback. From the dark bold kitchens in black, navy and charcoal or lighter shades such as soft greens, light greys and lattes, non-white kitchens create a significant statement piece in the family home.
Plantation Homes has also seen the mixing of coloured cabinets in the kitchen. The mixing and matching of timber with a plain colour is still on trend at the moment. Timber grains add a feeling of warmth and produce a welcoming atmosphere to any space. Another popular choice is two-tone cabinets using highly contrasting colours to create a monochromatic space. The sharp contrast between dark and light is very dramatic and still a current choice for many homes.
In the Panama, the choice of warm rich timbers, set against a peppering of light cabinetry creates a stunning look. Similarly, the Mirage Series opts for lighter timbers and white cabinetry, creating a luscious look and feel.

A must-have: Butler’s pantry
A Butler’s Pantry, which was once a ‘maybe’ item, is now a must have. Out of sight, the Butler’s Pantry is the place to prepare meals, with all your essentials items stored and stack at arm’s length and kept organised and in its place.
As the secondary kitchen, The Butler’s Pantry may have a dishwasher, microwave and even a second oven and hotplate, as well as having additional storage for the larger items which may not be used all the time such as your air fryer or slow cooker.
